YO is an acronym for YOURSELF and OTHERS. That's what we're all about -- life improvement for YOURSELF and OTHERS through social challenges.
What is a social challenge?

Do I get something if I win a challenge?
Yes! Social challenges are designed as a win/win for you and everyone who participates. You improve your life, develop good habits, and achieve your goals. You also should feel good about helping others along the way.
Seriously... what do I get?
Well, originally we designed this site so that all the entry fees would get pooled together, and the host would have some options about how to give the money back to the participants. Unfortunately, our lawyer told us that this is illegal. It is basically a lottery, and we would be shut down. However, this led us to the idea of giving the excess money, above the site fee ($2.99), to charitable causes. We fell in love with the idea and feel that it will make the social challenges much better.
What does YO Challenge like about NOT competing for a pot of money?
There are a few negative things that would come if everyone were competing for a pot of money;
- People would start to distrust each other. I am sure you are not like this, but there are some people who question and doubt what others are self-reporting when money is involved
- It would make it so that few people "win", and lots of people "lose"
- People would quit half-way. Once again, we are not referring to you, but there are some that develop an attitude of, "There is no way of winning the money, now!", and decide to drop out early
- It takes the focus off of creating good habits, and feeling good about accomplishing your goals
- It changes the "Help Others" feel to the challenge. When there is money on the line, others are viewed as competition. You might get excited when they start failing, rather than want to help and encourage them.
Why is there an entry fee?
We want you to succeed and accomplish your goals! One very important element to YO Challenge that helps each participant be successful is that of commitment. One of the ways that we "force" you to commit is by requiring an entry fee. With a little skin in the game, you'll be more committed, mentally. If you have any thoughts about the entry fee, please let us know using the FEEBACK button on the top of every page .YO Challenge was designed to meet your needs and to help you, so we are open to making any changes that will be best for the community.
How much of the entry fee is given to charity?
100% of your entry fees, above the site flat fee of $2.99, will be given to charity. So, if a Host chose to have an entry fee of $50 for a particular challenge, then over 94% of the entry fee would be given to a charity of their choice.
Why is there a site fee taken from the entry fee?
YO Challenge uses this money to cover our costs, and to improve the site. Remember, this is just a BETA version. We have big plans to make things better for you! Please give us ideas and FEEDBACK so that we can build this site to your liking.
Can I get a refund?
We would be happy to give a refund if you change your mind before a challenge goes live (start date). Once a challenge has gone live (start date), then no refunds will be issued. To get a refund, simple contact us using our CONTACT US form. You could also send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include the reason that you would like a refund. We would love to learn from your feedback and make any necessary changes to improve the site experience for others.
